My God

So I made this to enter a contest. If you like my work please vote for me at [link] number 32! It turned out to be much more difficult then I thought. Not the actual work but coming up with something that accurately portrays my personal idea of "God".

So I'll start by saying I don't believe in god in the Christian, or really any religious sense. It may sound odd and a bit funny to most, but I believe in something that can be likened to "the force" from Star Wars. So now that half of you are laughing off your ass and the other half are saying "right on!", I'll explain.

I don't believe in a large person with mystical powers who grants prayers and causes hurricanes, what I believe in is an energy or force that connects everything (living or not). It allows for anything and everything to exist and happen. It’s a energy field that can be manipulated by extreme force and causes a equal reaction to every action whether it be good or bad (similar to the butterfly effect, not the movie, the theory). Now this is just the quick and dirty version. The way I see it there is accuracy in every religious belief, prayers do help, they help the person praying through release of stress and so forth, and they concentrate energy that may even answer the prayer. Wiccan rituals are the same thing they concentrate energy and willpower to make things happen in their environment, whether it be health for a loved one or more money.

I believe in mother nature and the circle and flow of life and death and everything around you. I believe in opposites, animal spirits, angels, demons, unicorns, and the green man. I think anything that has been thought up exists and is real in some form, even if its only in the mind of those who believe. No one is wrong and at the same time no one is right, it sounds confusing and I don't have the words to accurately explain what I mean but I believe.

So finally in this work I wanted to highlight the opposites and yet similarities, the fluid motions of the world and energies, the elements, life and nature and just everything in between. My first idea was to just throw a bunch of religious icons in a giant mess of a work, but it felt to chaotic and I don't see my belief as being a chaotic one. In fact I see it as being the purest embodiment of order from chaos. So I hope you enjoy and arn't too confused
